Batik, like tie dye, is another resist method of dyeing fabric. Instead of elastic bands, hot wax is poured onto the fabric using a tjanting tool. Wherever the wax is the fabric resists the dye leaving a picture in the dye once it is ironed off.
Step 1- Pin your template to the back of your fabric
Step 2- Apply the wax to the fabric using a tjanting tool
Step 3- Paint your fabric with dye and wait for it to dry before you iron it off.
